The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim and the VU University Amsterdam (Netherlands) are pleased to announce a workshop on "Corporate Philanthropy". The international workshop is located within the framework of the research programme "Strengthening Efficiency and Competitiveness in the European Knowledge Economies" (SEEK). It provides a platform for the discussion of recent scientific contributions related to the topic of corporate philanthropic activities. The event encompasses a broad methodological and thematic spectrum. Empirical and experimental approaches to corporate philanthropy are just as welcome as theoretical models. We encourage submissions from economics, business administration, sociology, psychology, law and other disciplines.

Please send proposals for the workshop containing an extended abstract of at least two pages or the full paper as PDF files to cp-workshop@zew.de no later than July 16, 2012. Only proposals written in English will be accepted.

Authors of accepted proposals will be notified before August 1, 2012. Completed papers will be required before August 31, 2012, and will be posted at http://www.zew.de/cp2012. The website will periodically provide updated information regarding the workshop. Presenters may kindly be asked to discuss another paper. Young researchers are particularly encouraged to submit proposals. Travelling and accommodation costs of paper presenters will be covered partly.
