The Allievi of the Collegio Carlo Alberto are academically outstanding students, enrolled either in an undergraduate degree (Junior Allievi) or in an advanced undergraduate degree (Senior Allievi) in Economics and related subjects at the University or Politecnico of Torino. The Allievi are expected to fulfil their university requirements, as well as to participate in additional activities (tutorials and classes) at the Collegio entirely taught in English.

Junior Allievi and Senior Allievi, who successfully complete their study program at Collegio, are awarded, respectively, the Allievi Diploma and the Master in Economics from the Collegio. Alternatively, depending on the Allievi's interests, specific study programs may be designed which then lead to the award of the Master in: Economics and Complexity; Financial Economics; Statistics and Applied Mathematics.

The Allievi interact on a daily basis with the research community at the Collegio. Moreover, they have access to the Collegio’s facilities and scientific activities, such as seminars, lectures, master and doctoral courses.
