This is a tenure track assistant or tenured associate professor position. The successful candidate will carry out research in the field of industrial economics, organizational and market design. He will be expected to develop high quality theoretical and/or applied research in industrial organization, incentive theory, organizational or market design, the economics of information and technology and game theory with applications. The research topics we are interested in include but are not limited to economics of networks, internet, communication medias, innovation and patents, two-sided markets, matching, the theory of the firm, not-for-profit organizations, and auctions. There are teaching assignments (in general economics and in the above-mentioned fields within the various degree programmes) and supervision duties (master theses and PhD dissertations). The selected candidate will be teaching in the Department of Economics and be a member of the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE).
Selection criteria : applicants must have (nearly) completed a Ph.D. The background for appointment is economics, but individuals from another disciplinary background (e.g. maths or computer science) are eligible. The successful candidate will maintain a strong research programme in his(her) area of specialization, provide high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervise graduate student research. Courses are taught mainly in French but also in English. Fluency in French at the time of application is not required to be considered for the position; however, the ability to teach in French is valued.
