The Treasury Department's Office of Microeconomic Analysis anticipates an opening in 2012 for a well-qualified economist (new graduate and mid-career). The office provides analysis to senior Treasury and Administration officials on a wide range of financial and economic issues, including fiscal policy, entitlement reform, pensions, labor, health, education, housing, insurance, transportation, energy, the environment, and financial market issues. Staff works closely with top policy-makers throughout the Federal Government. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics or finance or equivalent experience. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, successful candidates must have the ability to present their views clearly and concisely and to prepare analysis, both oral and written, in tight time frames. U.S. citizenship is required.
