The Sustainable Fisheries Group (SFG; http://sfg.msi.ucsb.edu/) at the University of California, Santa Barbara seeks a postdoctoral scholar, with a focus on natural resource economics, to begin as soon as possible. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in economics or closely related sub-discipline by August 1, 2012. SFG is a collaborative, interdisciplinary organization with emphasis on economics and marine science. Candidates must have excellent econometric skills, a willingness to collaborate with UCSB faculty and students and an interest developing practical solutions to fishery management problems. Strong economic theory skills and training in natural resource economics are also desirable. The scholar would report to SFG Principals, particularly Drs. Robert Deacon and Christopher Costello.
Appointment is for 12 months; reappointment possible depending on performance and funding. Salary is competitive, commensurate with the applicant's qualifications. Postdoctoral benefits included.
