We are seeking applicants for a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Health Economics. The position is 0.5 FTE in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Dunedin School of Medicine, and 0.5 FTE in the Department of Economics, School of Business. This is a Confirmation Path position at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level depending on qualifications and experience.
Applicants will be expected to have a postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or a related field. Demonstrated potential for excellence in research in health economics, and a strong commitment to research-informed teaching are required. To be appointed at the Senior Lecturer level, the successful applicant will have published quality peer-reviewed research. The successful applicant will be comfortable with teamwork, have the ability to enhance the teaching and learning environment of both Departments, and enhance the communication and collaboration between these two Departments.
The appointee will teach a postgraduate course in Health Economics, which is an integral part of the Diploma and Masters programmes in Public Health and the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Management (Department of Preventive and Social Medicine) and contribute to undergraduate teaching in the Department of Economics. There are excellent opportunities for research collaboration across the university and with health sector organisations.
