Doctoral Program in Economics

Highly qualified postgraduate students from around the world are encouraged to apply to the DIW Graduate Center’s Doctoral Program in Economics at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).

The DIW Graduate Center is dedicated to providing its outstanding doctoral students intense training in a professional research environment that will develop their talents to the fullest. Program participants gain a deep understanding of economic and social processes. At DIW Berlin they have the opportunity to apply their knowledge within the professional research environment of one of Germany’s leading economic think tanks.

DIW Berlin is an independent, non-profit think-tank involved in economic research, service and policy advice. The 4-year program offers:
• PhD-level courses in the first year
• On-the-job training within research projects
• International internships with renowned institutions • Scholarships of 1,200 Euro per month
• Research positions upon availability

Applicants must hold a MA degree or a diploma in economics or in a related field in order to apply.
