The Deutsche Bundesbank is one of the biggest central banks in the world. Contributing to financial stability is one of our core functions. The analysis and assessment of financial stability from a macroprudential perspective, particularly in the German financial system, is a key component of this.
Analysis in the area of financial stability
Your tasks
Working as part of a highly qualified team, you will analyse, assess and follow – including from a research point of view – essential developments in the area of financial stability. The main areas of interest are:
❙ systemic risk, contagion risk within the financial system, credit cycles, stress tests and the development of early warning systems, or
❙ analysis and further development of the regulatory framework, in particular from a macroprudential perspective, qualitative and quantitative assessment of the impact, including in an international comparison.
Your work will serve to keep the Executive Board informed of developments and help in its decision-making. It will be used as a basis for the Bundesbank’s position in the relevant national and international bodies as well as for policy consultation. Moreover, your work will form the framework for the Bundesbank’s Financial Stability Review. Your research and academic publications will enhance our expertise in the field of financial stability.
Your profile
You have a university or accredited Masters degree in economics or financial mathematics with above-average results – ideally with a doctorate or a similar academic qualification. You have significant analytical talents and an interest in research and, if possible, can produce published material to verify this. You have a very good understanding of modern economic and financial market theory and are familiar with econometric and financial mathematical methodologies. In addition, you are able to incorporate your knowledge of the regulatory framework and accounting into your work. You can evaluate complex information and express yourself concisely both in writing and verbally, in German as well as in English.
What we are offering you
We are offering you challenging and demanding tasks with extensive flexibility.
We would like to increase the proportion of women at the Bundesbank and would therefore welcome applications from qualified women. Part-time work is generally possible. Given equivalent qualifications, priority will be given to severely disabled applicants.
