The ESMT European School of Management and Technology invites applications for two positions for a research project within the field of cost/benefit analysis of electric cars and the respective infrastructure setup.

The project will deliver a dynamic model for the diffusion and overall effects of electric cars in different infrastructure scenarios and support political and industry decision making for the ”Leitmarkt Elektromobilität“ in Germany.

The positions will start in March 2010 for an 19-month period. Compensation is aligned with E13 TVÖD. The project is financed by the German federal environmental ministry, the Bundesministerium für Umwelt.

Successful candidates should have:

relevant professional expertise or an academic track record in independent research work in a related field, like energy economics or transport; secure command of relevant econometric simulation techniques, in particular input-output analysis and/or consumer choice models; experience in survey techniques and evaluation of survey data; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; PhD or an equivalent degree would be a plus; sound command of written and spoken German would be a plus.

Tasks and responsibilities:

literature review; data collection and management; econometric modeling; interaction with stakeholders and industry representatives; presentation of results to peers.
