The University of Southern Denmark, Department of Environmental and Business Economics, invites applications for a position as Professor with special responsibilities (MSO) within environmental and resource economics.

Candidates with a broad experience within environmental economics or within energy economics would gain priority.

The Department of Environmental and Business Economics http://www.sam.sdu.dk/ime is part of the Faculty of Social Science and is located in Esbjerg. Within environmental and resource economics focus is currently particularly on five topics:

Risk analysis, risk management and risk communication Pollution and resource scarcity Regulation theory Integrated models Ecosystem based management

Research in the Department is organized in four research groups, and the announced position will be part of the group on Environmental and Resource Economics. The Department hosts the Centre for Fisheries and Aquaculture Management and Economics (FAME), which consists of a network and a research programme connecting researchers within resource economics and management with particular focus on fisheries and aquaculture (www.sdu.dk/fame). Increasingly, the research group is also focussing on other resources, especially energy.

The Department also provides teaching for degrees in Environmental and Resource Management (MSc.), Environmental Planning (BSc.), Enterprise Development (MSc. Business Economics), Business Economics and Administration (BSc.) and Diploma programmes in Business Economics and Administration. The department also offers PhD courses and contributes with modules to i.e. the MSc. programmes in Public Health Management and in Biology.

We welcome applicants with a record of high-quality national and international publications in environmental and resource/energy economics. PhD/ or doctoral degree in relevant field Research achievements at high international level, documented by published refereed journal articles Teaching and tutor experience at all levels of university education incl. A professorship with special responsibilities is limited to a five year period and is meant for talented researchers with a potential for developing a promising field to international class.

The Department provides a competitive salary, modern facilities for research and teaching as well as resources for research assistants and for travel and conference participation.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and in accordance with the job description of academic personnel at institutions of higher education.
